The drug is also the second-biggest selling drug in the U. to reach U. sales. The drug is the second-biggest selling drug for Pfizer, and the third-biggest selling drug worldwide. The company’s co-marketing agreement with Warner-Lambert, the third-biggest selling drug, will bring the total Pfizer sales of Cozaar to $1.2 billion in the U. and $1.6 billion in Europe.
The company will be the first company to make a generic version of the drug, and it is the first company to introduce a generic version of the drug to U. patients.
“The world is turning into a more crowded world,” said Pfizer Chief Executive Hank McKinnell. “With Pfizer’s approval of the drug, we are going to get the drugs we need, and we are going to give them the best chance we can to win.”
“We are excited for this second half of the year,” McKinnell said. “It’s going to be an exciting year. And we are hoping that we can make a successful move to bring the drugs we are offering to U. patients, to get the best out of them.”
The company will launch the Cozaar generic version of the drug in the U. on November 1, 2003, when it will be available in the U.
Pfizer will be marketing the generic drug for about two months.
The new co-marketing partnership is the second-biggest selling drug for Pfizer and the third-biggest selling drug worldwide.
The company’s new co-marketing agreement with Warner-Lambert will allow the company to market the drugs in the U. without the additional cost of the co-marketing agreement.
“This is a great opportunity to bring to market the drugs we have,” McKinnell said. “But there is the potential for additional costs and other risks associated with these medications, which we do not have access to.”
The co-marketing agreement between Pfizer and Warner-Lambert is giving Pfizer more than $2 billion in sales of the drug and $1.5 billion in sales in Europe. The co-marketing agreement with Warner-Lambert will allow Warner-Lambert to market the drug in the U. without the additional cost of co-marketing the drug.
“It is great that Pfizer has entered a new era with the drug,” McKinnell said. “But the next few years we will have a new opportunity to get the drugs we need, to get the best out of them. And we are excited about this opportunity.”
